PNNA Literary Award for Best Article in The Nor'wester

The PNNA sponsors an annual contest whereby authors can win awards for the best article published in The Nor'wester, the PNNA's quarterly newsletter. Awards were first presented in May 2014, for the 4th Quarter 2013 and 1st Quarter 2014 editions. Subsequent awards cover a full year (four editions) of The Nor'wester. For example, the awards made in 2018 cover the 2nd Q 2017 to 1st Q 2018 editions (but not the 2018 Tukwila convention edition).

Awards were presented in March 2018 for the three best articles published in the 2nd-4th quarters of 2017 and the 1st quarter of 2018.

Criteria for judging are as follows: The submitted articles will be judged on the basis of the overall quality of their content. Specific aspects that will be considered will include subject, useful information to members and quality based on adult or YN submission.

PNNA Editor Eric Holcomb will submit nominations for the awards to the awards committee. Eric will take into account any recommendations received from PNNA members before the deadline.

Members who participate should send their articles to Eric Holcomb (eric@holcomb.com or info@pnna.org) by the quarterly deadline. Please note that publication of articles cannot be guaranteed, or may be delayed. Articles are subject to editing for grammar, clarity or other reasons.

Articles from PNNA officers/committee members about PNNA business are not eligible for the award.

We look forward each year to reading the interesting articles submitted by members that help educate and entertain all of us.
