The Portland and Salem coin shows are not PNNA-sponsored events, but both are among the larger shows in the Northwest, and the PNNA may participate in programs at these shows. There were also new printed PNNA event calendars available at both shows.
The Salem Coin & Stamp Show (sponsored by the Salem Numismatic Society) was held December 2-3, 2023, at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem.
The Portland Coin Show (sponsored by the Willamette Coin Club) was held November 4-5, 2023, in Clackamas.
The PNNA 18th Annual Fall Coin Show was held October 6-8, 2023, in Tukwila, WA. See the dealer list.
See the 4th Q 2023 edition of The Nor’wester with feature articles about tokens and medals. Free paper copies were available at the PNNA fall coin show. Copies were mailed on Sept. 20, 2023, to PNNA members subscribed to paper copies.
Washington State (Puyallup) Fair

World’s Fair of Money® (ANA anniversary convention)
The convention was held August 8-12, 2023, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, Pa.
The 3rd Q 2023 edition of The Nor’wester is available. This is a short two-page edition but has an updated president’s message and Fair coordinator’s message. The 4th Q fall coin show edition will be 24 pages and in full color again. The 3rd Q edition was mailed to subscribers on July 8, 2023.
ANA Summer Seminar
The seminar was held June 17-29, 2023, in Colorado Springs, CO. Summer Seminar was cancelled for 2020-2021 but returned in 2022. Each year’s seminar has two one-week sessions.
National Coin Week
April 16-22, 2023. This was the 100th NCW, and the theme was “Our Money, Our Heritage, Our America.”

PNNA Convention and Spring Coin Show (72nd Annual)
April 14-16, 2023, in Tukwila, WA
See the 2nd Q 2023 edition of The Nor’wester with a feature article by Tom Sparks about the amazing Bissell short snorter, which was on display at the ANA NMS in Phoenix in early March! Free paper copies were available at the PNNA Convention. Copies were mailed on March 20, 2023, to PNNA members subscribed to paper copies.
SCC Meeting – Guests could attend the Seattle Coin Club Thursday evening meeting (April 13 at 6 p.m.), also at the Tukwila Community Center. Jeff Shevlin, “The So-Called Dollar Guy,” was the speaker. For the past several years, Jeff has been writing new books on So-Called Dollars, that have expanded the knowledge base of this interesting niche of numismatics. You could also meet Jeff at the convention over the weekend.
The ANA NATIONAL MONEY SHOW® was held March 2-4, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Boeing Employee’s Coin Show was held January 21-22, 2023, in Kent, Washington. Although this show is not a PNNA-sponsored event, it is one of the largest shows in the Northwest, and the PNNA may participate in Scouting or other programs at the show, as well as have a board meeting at the show.
The 1st Quarter 2023 edition of The Nor’wester contains information about PNNA awards and scholarships for 2023. See the blog post with a link and describing the contents. Paper copies were mailed to subscribers by Dec. 22, 2022.
