This was the second PNNA Tukwila fall coin show! (The first 15 annual fall coin shows were jointly hosted with the WCC in Portland.)

In 2021, there was just one collector exhibit at the fall show, located in the bourse area, but there were a few more exhibits at the fall 2022 show, and awards were made. (See the completed exhibits page.) The location of the exhibits was in the fitness room across the hall from the bourse entrance, as at most past shows.
The 4th Quarter 2022 special coin show edition of The Nor’wester is available online. It’s a 24-page color edition! See the blog post. Paper copies were mailed to subscribers on Sept. 28, 2022, and full-color copies were also available at the fall coin shows in Tukwila and Portland.
The Washington State Fair in Puyallup ran from Sept. 2-25, 2022. See the PNNA Fair webpage for information. The PNNA fully participated in the 2022 Fair, in the Hobby Hall.
The ANA World’s Fair of Money® (anniversary convention) was held Aug. 16-20, 2022, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont (Chicago), IL.
PNNA 3rd Q 2022 edition of The Nor’wester – See the linked blog post or go directly to the PDF file. As announced herein, there will be only two main editions of The Nor’wester each year, for the spring convention and the fall coin show. The other two editions will be short letters like this edition.
ANA Summer Seminar was held June 18-30, 2022, in Colorado Springs, CO. Summer Seminar was cancelled for 2020-2021, but returned in 2022. Each year’s seminar has two one-week sessions.

ANA National Coin Week happened April 17-23, 2022. The theme was “Dynamic Designs, Artistic Masterpieces.” Also see the PNNA’s NCW club award page. Club reports were due by the end of April.
60th Anniversary! On April 21, 1962, the city of Seattle opened its very own world’s fair: the Century 21 Exposition. See the full story on the Smithsonian Magazine website.
PNNA Convention & Coin Show (71st Annual)

This was the first PNNA spring convention in three years, and was a successful return to action, even though activities such as numismatic theater, collector exhibits, and scout clinics were cancelled or not scheduled. According to Rick Schulz, “Dealers I talked to all reported a good show, so those attending came to buy and sell. This bodes well for upcoming local shows.”
The Nor’wester – The PNNA published the 2nd Quarter 2022 edition of The Nor’wester, with an interesting feature article about starting a quarters collection. There are ads in this edition from ANACS, Heritage, West Coast Coins and other local dealers, so please have a look! Paper copies were mailed to subscribers on March 24, 2022, and free paper copies were available at the PNNA convention.
National Events:
ANA NATIONAL MONEY SHOW®
March 10-12, 2022, at the Broadmoor Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
PNNA scholarship applications for ANA Summer Seminar were due February 28. The deadline to register with the ANA for Summer Seminar was May 15.
The Boeing Employee’s Coin Show in Kent, Washington, was held January 15-16, 2022. Although this show is not a PNNA-sponsored event, it is one of the largest shows in the Northwest, and the PNNA often produces a special edition newsletter for this event and may also participate in Scouting or other programs at the show.
The Nor’wester – The PNNA published the 1st Quarter 2022 edition of The Nor’wester, with a couple of interesting articles, including one pertaining to American Legion School Award Medals. There are ads in this edition from ANACS, West Coast Coins and other local dealers, so please have a look! Paper copies were mailed to subscribers on or about Jan. 2, 2022. Free paper copies were available at the BECC coin show.
