Page E-3 - 2013 to date Fall Convention Elongateds |
These elongated souvenirs are produced with the PNNA's elongating machine at the annual fall convention and coin show in Portland, Oregon. (Fall conventions were co-sponsored by PNNA and the Willamette Coin Club from 2005 to 2019.) The quantity produced is estimated at a few hundred annually, mostly on cents but sometimes on other coins. Copper cents (instead of copper plated zinc) are used whenever possible to give a higher-quality product. As usual, a few elonagted coins with these designs may have been produced using coins other than cents, including foreign coins. In addition, a few intentional "errors" may also have been produced, for example, with only part of the original coin elongated. For the two-sided coins (made with two dies), a few samples and/or test pieces are typically made with only one die (and a blank pressed reverse, which may show remnants of the original cent). |

The design celebrates the PNNA 75th anniversary, with the same reverse canoe design as on the Tukwila coin. |
